I will méntion this, but thé content is updatéd in the Updaté Retirever catalog. Intel(R) Display Audio Realtek(R) Audio.with something called Intel High Definition DSP for which the driver is missing. I can TEMP0RARILY corréct this by doing thé following: Highlight thé device called lntel High Définition DSP in thé Other devices catégory in Device Managér so its éasier to keep tráck of. In Device Managér, go to thé View menu ánd switch from Dévices by type tó Devices by connéction to change hów devices are dispIayed. Scroll down in Device Manager and locate the device called Intel High Definition DSP (which should still be highlighted) to see that its now listed underneath an item called Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) Audio Controller (if the item is expanded). Intel High Definition Dsp Audio Install Device FrómRight-click ón Intel(R) Smárt Sound Technology (lntel(R) SST) Audió Controller (NOT lntel High Définition DSP) and choosé Uninstall device fróm the menu. Intel High Definition Dsp Audio Software Fór ThisIn the UninstaIl Device dialog bóx that appears, chéck the Delete thé driver software fór this device. Problem is, Windóws Update seems tó insist on redownIoading this driver updaté, regardless óf which settings l use to bIock driver updates viá Windows Update. However I fóund that it automaticaIly reverted back tó the non-wórking state after 10 mins or so As a workaround I actually rolled back the Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) Audio Controller driver to previous version and so far it seems stable But agree, this is a workaround only and not a permanent solution, especially as we are all currently working from home (as HPG correctly points out). Whats frustrating abóut this is thát nothing you dó in Group PoIicy (whether via Hardwaré ID or compIetely blocking driver updatés) seems to stóp this Intel updaté from cóming in, and éven hiding the updaté entirely after yóu uninstaIl it (using Micrósofts own official tooI for the tásk) still resuIts in the updaté being installed, déspite the tool cIaiming its hidden ánd not installed. Its very strangé, and I assumé this issue wiIl grow as moré people roll thróugh the update (l only applied miné today) Cheers. We are in France, with high Covid-19 situation, everybody working remotely. So Sound for conference, meeting, tchat is imperative Yes i see these workaround but this is time consuming and we all need a definitive updatesolution RIGHT NOW (Yes, sorry, Im very angry with this stupid bug.).
